Caption: Canyon erosion. Severe erosion of the sides of a canyon due to overgrazing by cattle. The cattle's destruction of much of the stabilising vegetation has resulted in soil loss and the creation of deep gullies by later rainfall. Only coniferous trees now remain on the canyon's sides. Photographed in Nicola River Canyon, British Columbia, Canada.
