Caption: Shuttle image of a southwestern view of the Greater Himalyas bordering the Karakoram Range. The peaks of the Karakoram Range are near the lower edge of the image. India is on the left of the photograph, Pakistan on the right and China is in the foreground. The valley of the Indus River is in the right background and the Vale of Kashmir is near the right edge of the photograph. The picture was taken by the crew of Columbia 6 in October 1984.
