Caption: Mountains in Bhutan, SPOT satellite image. North is at top. Bhutan is a small landlocked country in the Himalaya mountain range, between India and China. The white areas here are high snow-covered mountains, whose meltwaters have carved deep valleys (dark brown). At upper right, several large glaciers (blue/white) flow down the mountains to relatively snow-free lowlands. The boundary between mountains and these lowlands forms the border between China (to the north) and Bhutan.
