Thick vegetation appears red, water is dark blue where clear (lower right) and pale green where rich in sediment. Note the huge quantity of sediment being washed into the South China Sea. Much of the land in this part of Vietnam is irrigated and farmed. Flooded rice paddies appear pale blue to red depending on age of the crop.
