Caption: Ice cave interior. Lit tent of an explorer camping in an ice cave. Formed typically by water erosion, this kind of cave is kept icy by winter winds blowing through it freezing the water formed by melting snow and ice in summer. In summer, a cold breeze blows from the cave depths to the entrance, preventing melting. Photographed at the Appa glacier, Pemberton Ice Field, British Columbia, Canada.
