Caption: Aerial photograph of a flooded Wadi, situated north of Taif, Saudi Arabia. A wadi is an arab word for a desert watercourse that is usually dry, but may contain water after heavy rainfall. Wadis may originate in the deserts or from the melting snows of distant mountains. The term is mainly restricted to the Sahara and the Arab countries of south-west Asia.
