Caption: MODEL RELEASED. Reindeer round-up. Sami men rounding up reindeer (Rangifer tarandus) for slaughter during the winter. The animals are killed using knives and chopped up on the ground to provide food and clothing. The Sami, or Lapps, are an indigenous population who live in Lapland, which stretches across the northern parts of Norway, Sweden and Finland, as well as north- western Russia. Photographed in Sweden.
