Caption: Woodland ground plants. Wood sorrel (Oxalis acetosella) has clover-like leaves and produces small white flowers in early spring. It is found in oak woods and shaded hedges and is a good indicator of old woodland. The oak fern's (Gymnocarpium dryopteris) triangular leaves are divided into pairs of lobes or leaflets. It grows up to 35 centimetres and is found in moist forests and rocky slopes.
