Caption: Tea plantation. Rows of tea bushes on a hillside plantation. Tea (Camellia sinensis) is a small evergreen tree that is grown and harvested for its leaves. Workers can be seen picking the leaves at top centre. Once harvested, the leaves are allowed to wither, before being rolled to release aromatic oils, fermented, and finally dried. The alkaloid compound caffeine gives tea its stimulating effect. Photographed in Boseong, South Korea.
