Caption: Frog shelter. Planks of wood alongside a row of organically grown leeks (Allium porrum 'Musselburgh'). The planks provide a dark and damp shelter for toads and frogs, which predate pests such as slugs and snails. The leeks are are covered by cardboard to cut out light (blanching), which makes them whiter than if they are left uncovered.
