Caption: Green peppers. Green bell or sweet peppers, Capsi- cum annum, being harvested. The peppers are picked by hand and then carried on a conveyor belt into a truck. Sweet peppers grow in tropical and sub-tropical regions around the world. The fruit has a mild flavour and can be eaten raw or cooked. Green peppers are a good source of vitamin C and beta-carotene; the body converts the latter into vitamin A. Photographed in California, USA.
