Caption: Cotton harvesting. Hands with cotton plants, Gossypium sp., during harvesting. Cotton is grown for the white fibres (lint) contained within their seed capsules (bolls). These fibres are used to make cloth. These plants have had their leaves stripped from them as part of the first stage of harvesting. The bolls will now be mechanically removed from the plants.
