Caption: Peanut harvest. Pods of peanut or groundnut plants (Arachis hypogaea) being dried ready for harvest. The peanut is a vine, the pods of which ripen underground. The plants are inverted before harvesting so that the pods dry out. Each pod contains two nuts (seeds). Peanuts are grown for human food, animal fodder, and for their oil. Photographed in Georgia, USA.
