Caption: Tulip field. A field of commercially grown tulips (Tulipa sp.). The genus Tulipa contains over 100 species and almost countless varieties. Tulips originated in Turkey and were brought to the rest of Europe in the 16th century. Cultivation of tulips is now an important part of the economy of Holland and parts of the UK.
