Caption: Red disa orchid (Disa uniflora). The red disa, or Pride of Table Mountain, is found in the wild only in the Western Cape of South Africa. It has only one known pollinator, a butterfly called Meneris tulbaghia. D. uniflora is an evergreen orchid that lives in wet or moist conditions, such as beside waterfalls or streams. Photographed at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in South Africa.
