Central London is at centre left. The River Thames runs through it from west to east. In a bend of the Thames at centre is the Millennium Dome, (white circle) which will hold a large exhibition to celebrate the arrival of the year 2000. The Dome is around 320 metres wide, and is designed to hold over 40, 000 visitors at any one time. Image resolution: 20 metres. Image taken in June by the French SPOT-2 satellite.
