The one at centre right leads to Red Square (just below centre). The area between Red Square and the river is the Kremlin complex. It includes a green building (square, the Grand Kremlin Palace). At upper right, the large rectangular building is the Rossia Hotel (built 1967, demolished 2006). To its left is the glass roof of the Moscow Gostiny Dvor exhibition centre. Directly north of here (left), on the edge of the image, is Lubyanka Square in front of the former headquarters of the KGB. Image taken by the Ikonos satellite on 29 August 2002.
