Post Office Tower, London, UK. The Post Office Tower, or British Telecom communication tower, (left) is 188 metres high and a landmark of central London. It was designed by Eric Bedford and construction began in June 1961. There were three opening ceremonies; the topping out ceremony (1964), the operational ceremony (1965) and the public opening (1966). In 1980, public access to the building ended and visits are now by invitation only.
