Caption: Central London, UK, Quickbird satellite image. North is at top. The River Thames flows from lower left to right through the city. Hyde Park, which contains the elongated Serpentine Lake, is at centre left. Immediately to the east of Hyde Park is Green Park, and to the east of that is St James's Park. North of Hyde Park is the nearly circular Regent's Park. South of Hyde Park, on the south bank of the Thames, is Battersea Park. London has a population of around 7.5 million, although the metropolitan area houses nearly double that number. Photographed on 28th July 2002.
