Caption: Orchid flowers (Bulbophyllum careyanum). This is a cluster of tiny flowers on a structure called a raceme. The flowers are foul-smelling. At top left is a structure called a pseudobulb, a structure in which the plant stores food and water. This orchid is found in the Himalayas and Thailand and Burma. There are more than 30,000 species of orchids worldwide, many of which are grown as ornamental flowers.
