Caption: Orchid flowers (Bulbophyllum falcatum). These are tiny flowers (just over a centimetre across). They form a cluster called a raceme. Each flower has a yellow lip, a specialised petal that attracts a pollinator to the flower. This tropical orchid is from western and central Africa. There are more than 30,000 species of orchids worldwide, many of which are grown as ornamental flowers.
