Caption: Montreal, Canada, ISS image. The city is the grey area at centre, on the St Lawrence River (flowing diagonally across the image). The surrounding landscape is white due to the winter snowfall. The city was officially founded in 1642. By 1991, the population was over 4 million. This image was photographed from the International Space Station in the winter of 2006-7, by a member of the Expedition 14 Crew.
