Caption: Al Sulayyil military base, Saudi Arabia, Ikonos satellite image. Located 500 kilometres south of the Saudi capital Riyadh, Al Sulayyil base (blue, upper left of centre) is believed to contain around 60 Chinese-made CSS-2 missiles. These ballistic missiles have a range of 3000 kilometres and are capable of carrying a 2.5 ton conventional or non-conventional payload. This makes them the largest missiles outside of the nuclear powers. Photographed on 11 December 2000.
