Caption: Orchid flowers (Gastrochillus calceolaris). Each of the flowers has a specialised petal called the lip (here white and yellow with pink spots). This attracts pollinators to the flowers. This orchid is found in South-East Asia. It is an epiphytic orchid (one that grows in trees). There are more than 30,000 species of orchids worldwide, many of which are grown as ornamental flowers.
