Caption: Oil well fire. Firefighters from Halliburton's Boots and Coots company sheltering behind a metal heat shield as they survey a blazing oil well. This is in the Rumeilah Oil Field in southern Iraq. The oil wells were set alight by Iraqi troops as they retreated from the invading coalition forces in March 2003. This well was later extinguished with high pressure water jets and capped with drilling mud to stem the flow of oil. Photographed in March 2003.
