Caption: Stone Age skeletons and mammoth ivory. The mammoth ivory decorations are in the mouth of the skeleton in the foreground, and in the ornaments on this skeleton and the one in the background. The use of such ornaments dates back to the Palaeolithic era, the early part of the Stone Age, up to about 10, were discovered in a Stone Age grave outside Vladimir, a city in Russia several hundred kilometres to the east of Moscow. Photographed in 1967.
