Copper products. Collection of different forms of the metallic element copper (symbol Cu). Copper is a transition metal. It is malleable and ductile, meaning that it can be easily worked into shape for a required purpose. It is also an excellent conductor of heat and electricity. Its ductility means that it can be stretched out to form wires, which are then used to conduct electricity around electrical grids and circuits. Sheet copper was used to line roofs and ships, and is now mostly used for decorative purposes. Copper is also used in pipes, coins and to make alloys. Copper powder is mostly for chemical uses, such as melting it to make alloys with other metals.
