Caption: Zinnia. Flower of the zinnia (Zinnia elegans). This plant originated in Central and northern South America, but is now grown worldwide for its large and showy flowers. It requires hot summers and full Sun, and flowers throughout the summer and autumn. It is a member of the family compositae, the largest family of flowering plants. Photographed in the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, New York, USA.
