Caption: Camomile flowers (Chamaemelum nobile). This low- growing perennial is a member of the compositae family, which includes the daisies. It is native to western Europe, the Azores and northern Africa and has a wide range of economic uses. Camomile flowers are used extensively in cosmetic products for their scent, as well as for their colouring and conditioning properties. They are also used to flavour tea and are considered to be medicinal, infusions of camomile being used as a natural anti-inflammatory.
