Caption: Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) seed heads and flower (lower left). Each seed is topped by a feathery parachute (pappus) of fine hairs, which allows the seeds to be widely dispersed by the wind. These dandelions are in an oilseed rape (Brassica napus) field. Oilseed rape (upper right) is grown to produce a vegetable oil that is suitable for use in cooking and food processing. It is now being increasingly processed for use as biodiesel.
