Caption: Bluebells. Flowering bluebells or wild hyacinths, Endymion non-scriptus, growing in a common beech (Fagus sylvatica) wood in the spring. Bluebells, a member of the lily family, are common to undisturbed open woodland, scrubs and hedges. Their bell-shaped flowers are azure blue or occasionally white. Ferns can also be seen at lower centre. Photographed in Northumberland, England.
