Caption: DNA molecule. Computer artwork of part of a strand of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid). The DNA molecule carries genetic information in all cellular organisms. It consists of two strands (blue and green) wound around each other in a double helix. Each strand is constructed from linked sugar phosphate molecules, making a backbone. The twisting backbones are held together by pairs of four different types of nucleotide bases (red). The sequence of these bases makes up the genetic code which is unique to every individual.
