Caption: The bubble chamber area of the Neutrino Laboratory at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab) outside Chicago, Illinois. Protons accelerated in Fermilab's giant Tevatron acceler- ator are deflected from their orbital paths into a switchyard, where a number of separate beams are produced to serve three experimental areas. The beam for the neutrino area strikes a target which produces a beam of neutrinos. The neutrinos travel through the raised bank at top & then interact in the liquid hydrogen of Fermilab's 15-foot bubble chamber, housed in the square building at lower centre.
