Caption: Cloning cows, surrogate mother. Veterinarian caring for a surrogate mother cow (Bos taurus) during a cloning project. This is an Aberdeen Angus cow. A cloned embryo has been implanted in the surrogate mother's womb to allow it to develop. This work is being carried out at the Bio Sidus biotechnology company, in Argentina, which successfully cloned a cow in 2002. The cloned cows are intended to be used to produce human growth hormone (hGH) in their milk.
