Caption: MODEL RELEASED. Coral reef research. Researcher using a computer to record and analyse genetic results from a laboratory experiment on coral reefs. The technique used here was denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE), which separates DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) fragments to create a genetic fingerprint of the community being studied. This is being done as part of a project to study the biology of coral reefs. Photographed at the University of Newcastle, UK.

Release details: Model release available. Property release not required.
