Caption: Turtle X-ray. X-ray of a loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta) showing several swallowed fish hooks. These hooks may cause internal injuries. After removing the hooks, biologists will release the turtle back into the wild. A transmitter lets its movements to be followed. This data is used in the efforts to protect these turtles from extinc- tion due to human activities. Photographed at the Anton Dohrn zoological station in Naples, Italy.
