The blood group is found by reconstituting the dried blood with saline solution and then mixing it with different antibodies to see which of them cause the blood to clot. Genetic, or DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid), fingerprinting may enable the person the blood came from to be identified. These facts can aid a criminal investigation. Rubber gloves help to maintain a sterile environment.
