Binoculars. Coloured X-ray of a pair of binoculars with the eyepieces seen at top. Eyepiece lenses (white) and object lenses (lower left and right) are convex in shape, producing the magnifying power of the binoculars. Prisms (white, centre left and right) form an upright image. Focusing is achieved by varying the distance between the eyepiece and object lenses. As the name implies, binoculars are used by both eyes simultaneously.
