Caption: Burke and Wills' expedition. 19th century engraving of Robert O'Hara Burke and William Wills' Australian exploring expedition. This picture shows the expedition's departure, with 25 camels imported from India, from Royal Park, Melbourne, on 20th August 1860. Unfortunately, Burke and Wills both died on the return journey, and only one of their party survived.
