Paleontologist Paul Buchheim examines the fossilised remains of a dwarf species of rhinoceros. This was the first example of this species to be discovered, and was found by a commercial fossil hunter. Although frowned upon by many academics, commercial paleontologists often find new species, or fine examples of known animals. Fossil fairs, such as the one at Tuscon, Arizona where this example was seen, can be a valuable source of material for museums as well as private collectors.
