Caption: George Jarvis Brush (1831-1912), American mineralogist. Brush was Professor of Metallurgy and Mineralogy at the Sheffield Scientific School at Yale University, USA. He donated around 15,000 mineral specimens from his own collection to the university in 1904. The mineral brushite, a calcium hydrogen phosphate, is named in his honour.
