Caption: Victor Fedorovich Bolkhovitinov (1899-1970), Soviet aircraft designer, in military uniform. Bolkhovitinov, who reached the military rank of Major General, studied at the Zhukovsky Military-Aviation Engineering academy (Moscow) and worked there as a teacher and aircraft designer for most of his career. In the 1930s and 1940s, he worked on aircraft design, forming his own design bureau, which was called OKB Bolkhovitinov. Photographed in Moscow, Russia, in 1965.
