Caption: Julia Craig-McFeely, archival manager for the Digital Image Archive of Medieval Music (DIAMM), Oxford, England. The DIAMM project aims to record polyphonic medieval music manuscripts into digital format using a high resolution purpose- built digital scanner. In cases where manuscripts are damaged or obscured by overwritten layers, Craig-McFeely uses Adobe Photoshop and other software to manually re-touch and expose hidden layers.
