Caption: Ulf Svante von Euler (1905-1983), Swedish physiologist, pharmacologist and Nobel laureate, in his laboratory. His father was German. Von Euler shared the 1970 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine with Bernard Katz and Julius Axelrod. The share of the Nobel was awarded for von Euler's discoveries concerning neurotransmitters. Photographed at the Karinska Institute's physiology department, Stockholm, Sweden, in April 1971.
