Caption: Konstantin Petrovich Feoktistov (1926-2009), Soviet cosmonaut and engineer. Feoktistov, an engineer, flew in space aboard the Voskhod 1 spacecraft on 12-13 October 1964, with two other cosmonauts. This was the first spaceflight to carry more than one person, and orbited the Earth 16 times. Feoktistov never flew again due to medical reasons, but later became head of the Soviet space design bureau, designing some of the first orbital stations. He was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. Photographed in 1965, in Moscow, Russia.
