Caption: Candy Hansen, a key member of the Voyager Project imaging team. She is pointing to a feature on a mosaic of the surface of Triton made from pictures returned by Voyager 2 during its encounter with Neptune in August 1989, when this portrait was taken. Other pictures from the encounter cover the walls of her office at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California. The two Voyager craft were launched in 1977 & acquired tens of thousands of images & a vast amount of scientific data from close encounters with Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune & their satellites. Hansen was responsible for planning the imaging for each encounter.
