Caption: Captain Robert Woolston Hunt (1838-1923), American mechanical engineer. Hunt recognised the importance of imposing inspection standards and rigorous testing of industrial materials and engineered products. During his career he was president of the American Society for Testing and Materials and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He was a winner of the John Fritz Medal, awarded by the American Association of Engineering Societies.
