Caption: MODEL RELEASED. Stephen Salter (born 1938), South African engineer. Salter read physics at Cambridge University before moving to Edinburgh University where he became famous in the 1970s for his invention of the "Salter Duck". This was a device used to harness water wave power for electrical power generation. Photographed in August 1995.
