Caption: Dennis Tito (b.1940), space tourist, (middle) being photographed eating after returning from the Soyuz TM-32 spaceflight, April 2001. Tito, a multi- millionaire American businessman, paid $20 million (£14m) to join this Russian flight to the International Space Station (ISS), becoming the first space tourist to pay for his own ticket. He spent almost 8 days in orbit and docked with the ISS. He was sixty when he took part in the flight. Prior to being a businessman, Tito worked as a scientist for NASA at the Jet Propulsion Unit (JPL).
