Caption: Richard Woodfin, British biologist. Woodfin is a Research Officer with the Ecotron project, which aims to study the effect of species diversity and climate change on simple model ecosystems. Woodfin was instrumental in the building and development of the Ecotron, and is responsible for the greenhouse experiments which are run in parallel with the project. Ecotron experiments use a model community of a small number of plant and insect species. Each experiment is contained within a 4 metre square sealed chamber, researchers being able to control the amount of light and water fed into the experiment. Photographed in 1994.
